Grant Guidelines

Please Note: The California Casualty Music & Arts Grant Program is taking a planned pause for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications are not being accepted at this time. The information below reflects the program guidelines from previous grant cycles and is provided for reference only. Updates will be posted here when the program returns.

The California Casualty Music and Arts Grant program will consider grant requests for public K-12 schools whose music and arts programs are in jeopardy or in great need of funding. Requests will also be considered for individual classrooms wishing to integrate music and/or arts projects within school curriculum. This program is available in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, OR, WY.

The deadline is July 15 for grant requests to be considered for the fall of the next school year. All grants will be notified of their status by November 30.

Applications must be submitted by an active employee of the public school for which the grant is being requested. The applicant must be a current member/employee of the Arizona Education Association (AEA), Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), California Teachers Association (CTA), Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE), Colorado Education Association (CEA), Confederation of Oregon School Administrators (COSA), Idaho Education Association (IEA), Kansas National Education Association (KNEA), Oregon Education Association (OEA), or Wyoming Education Association (WEA). Please advise your Principal of your grant request. California Casualty will be in contact with them in regard to your application status.

Not all schools are guaranteed to receive a grant award. A selection committee will review all applications and determine award recipients. Applications received by July 15 will be notified of their status by November 30. Applications received after July 15 will be considered for an award during the next program cycle. Grant award amounts will be $300. Checks will be made payable to your school.

Awards must be used to subsidize the music or arts program/class project identified on the grant application and must be used for tangible items relating to the music or arts program. They cannot be used for individual student awards, construction projects, organizations whose primary purpose is fundraising, or other school programs.

California Casualty requires permission to publish the details of the award, school name and applicant’s name and photo in promotional materials and media.

California Casualty reserves the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the California Casualty Music and Arts Grant program at any time.
